Engineering World Congress
UADI (Argentine Union of Associations of Engineers) and CAI (Argentine Center of Engineers) together with centres,
colleges and institutions of engineering all over the country are organizing the World Engineering Congress and Exhibition: ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA: “Technology, Innovation and Production for the Sustainable Development”, to be held in Buenos Aires in October 2010, with the purpose of incorporating a special event of national and international engineering (“World Engineers Week”) during the celebration of the bicentennial of the Revolution of May 25th 1810 which was the beginning of the process of independence in our country.
Proposal
UADI and CAI are working so that “Engineering 2010 Argentina” makes it possible to present and analyze specially the economic and productive aspects generated by engineering, with the purpose of spreading and boosting the updated knowledge and the outlook for future advances in food and goods production, technological systems, methods and services for the sustainable development of mankind.
Baring this in mind the Congress ENGINEERING 2010- ARGENTINA is expected to be an international meeting of engineers and businesspeople in order to increase their cooperation and convergence and their interaction with the population in general, aiming at contributing to an improved quality of life in society in terms of different objectives.
Objectives of the Congress
- Gathering engineers in the national Argentine field as well as the American and world fields in order to intensify and stimulate their relations and actions together with those of the related professions and activities, fostering the dialogue with all the sectors.
- Having the engineers work jointly with the productive forces so as to achieve the convergence that may strengthen their cooperation leading to sustainable development with environmental protection, equity and social inclusion as defined by the United Nations World Summit in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro.
- Consolidating an indissoluble chain among engineering, education, research, innovation and industry. Summoning, for that purpose, engineers, businesspeople, researchers and teachers that play a leadership role in the public and private sector.
- ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA wishes to intensify the engineers’ commitment to the compliance of the United Nation program: “Millennium Development Goals” convened in 2000 in New York (eradicate poverty and hunger; achieve universal primary education; promote gender equality; reduce child mortality; improve maternal health; combat HIV/AIDS , malaria and other diseases; ensure environmental sustainability; build a global partnership for development). Also it aims to adopting the urgencies agreed in 2002 in the World Summit of Johannesburg (water, energy, health, food and biodiversity).
